I'm sure y'all want to hear that the next release is right around the corner. From my perspective it is, but I doubt that's comforting right this second. And I'm going to be busy three of the next four weekends, which means I'm not going to get a lot done in August. Rest assured, I'm working as fast as time allows. Game will be released soon. It just won't feel that way.
Human boss is done, and I think he's about right. Looks good enough, animations are hot (imo), and there's just a dash of plot/story thrown at ya as well. More importantly, there's tons of new gear in his tent now. It is without a doubt the best gear-up spot in the game, especially if you play a warrior. I suspect folks will be making multiple trips back there to grab gear & play with the different weapons. If anything, I'm worried I may have made it too good, making it the mandatory 'go here first' of the village. I guess that's somewhat balanced by the fact that you can't carry enough of it, and the items for the third backpack slot are scattered everywhere but there. haha.
So now I'm up to the final boss of this act, and I'm sad to say she really doesn't look 'right' to me:
Course it might help if I drew her hands. Pfft. Hands. Who needs 'em, right? =D Seriously, there's something I don't like about her face, but I can't quite place it. I think her forehead might be jutting out too far, or maybe her ears are too small, or maybe I don't have enough detail around the eyes. Actually, I think her eyes might be placed too high, but moving them lower really makes the forehead look too large. So not really sure what to do there, but I'll keep piddling with it.
She's supposed to be older. Not wheelchair old, more like cougar old, so I bumped up the breast size a bit & thinned down the arms & legs. In hindsight, not sure that was the right direction, as the skinny legs make her look more decrepit than elderly. Probably should have added some boob sag too, but that's just not sexy so I skipped it. So we have an anorexic, perky female. Which isn't bad at all, but it doesn't convey 'older' imo.
Not sold on the color scheme either. Originally she was grey on grey. Didn't like that so much, and it's one of Lei-Lei's alternate colors as well. Tried silver too, but that turned out more 'funny grey' than silver. And white is downright too bright. So I settled on off-green for now. It still doesn't quite click for me, although it may be because I kept the eyes bright purple.
Anyway, that's the update. I'd chat more, but some folks want me to actually 'work' on the game. =D

I would recommend moving the eyes closer to the bridge of the nose, removing the spikes on the back of her head, and raise the chin slightly upwards so it looks smaller. other than those and the missing hands i would say your good
ReplyDeleteI was going to say something to the extent of the muzzle looks a little off and everything else is fine. But I'm no artist so I'm not sure if that's solid advice. Other than that you could just copy the other female bunnies and then modify them to get what you want, that is if that's not what you did in the first place...

What about her attacks? They can help to show that she is older then heros, without editing her body. Maybe spanking? It should fit.

ReplyDeleteI think the final boss looks quite male-ish. I'm not a fan of futa, but it'd suit her, especially if she's a shaman of sort. I must say she looks pretty fine, except for bony legs. I'm not too fond of dark nipples either, but it's just a matter of personal preference. When we're at that, do you think you could change that human boss' chain to something more tribal? Something like this perhaps:

PS, her face looks perfectly okay! Her muzzle might be sticking out too much, but it's alright. Her rump is huge, which doesn't give a pleasant result with those legs. I think that's a little more than what you were aiming for.

Making an older-looking female character, in a sexyish way...
ReplyDeleteIf it were me, I'd start with the young-looking female model. Make her look a bit more "curvy", including increasing breast size (you don't need to make them "sag", but put them a little lower - currently they look kinda fake, high as they are) but also broadening her hips, maybe give her a little more belly. Her limbs would be about the same size or even a little thicker, but more importantly they'd have less muscle definition, so they'd look "softer". The eyes should stay the same, but with a half-lidded seductive/worldly look, and some eye shadow and/or lashes. Maybe consider lipstick, if you think you can pull it off? If you want to drive home the age difference, you could try make her generally young and sexy looking but add some subtle lines under the eyes.
I'd give some thought to "hair" as well. I know the bunnies don't have hair, but you might consider giving her a bit of fluff, or doing something stylish with her ears (make them larger and "swept back" to mimic the look of long hair perhaps), maybe adding earrings as well. I think the snout could do with being smaller/rounder, to boot; just generally "cuter".

Funny you should hit on the "open minded" part, as that was one of my orginal goals. A little something for everyone. If you stumbled across the guy on guy scene in the bathroom, it's there for that exact reason. Sort of a bad example, as that particular bit was supposed to be much bigger, but that plot didn't make it into the game.

DeleteY'all are hitting on some good topics this month. Farah was originally supposed to be equestrain(?) equine(?) A horse girl. That's part of why she has super high strength but low spirit. Early in the design though, I realized I knew even less aobut drawing sexy horse girls than I did about just trying to draw a human. And there's the whole hoove/fist/foot problem. Can she even hold weapons? Should she wear shoes? I think that last bit really sealed it for me, as I didn't want to track shoes separately for each character. haha. Honestly though, I really like how humans came out as being stong but low magic because of it. Gives us a 'place' in the world, so to speak.

I agree with Bauercat's picture suggestion. I think any enemy in your game that was too much like an animal would not fit in to the crowd with the rest.

In general, I'd suggest:
- More stylized features, seems a bit plain, bulbous head and tiny ears for instance.
- Large hips and butt for that MILF style. Hartman Hips is the term(Dexter's Mom). Should probably make her hips broader than her shoulders at least. I'd even go so far as to suggest a rolling hips animation to the walk.
- Silver Lavender seems like a fine fur color for her. So what if it's between Lei-lei's alternate colors?
Ok, I am not sure why but for as long as this post has been up till today I was unable to ad my comments for some reason. Anyway, in my opinion unless you want this bunny to look elderly, making her skinnier is the wrong direction. instead, make her less shapely. As anyone ages, their features simply become less defined. If she looked like the younger bunnies, only not as rounded off as perfectly, and perhaps slightly thicker as well, it would help her seem older without looking old.

Will the codes ever work for it? I've tried 'Harder' and 'Softer' and nothing works. Out of desperation I even tried the old codes, and I got zilch.
ReplyDeleteThose codes won't work in the demo that's currently posted. They'll be active in the next release though. As for why the old codes didn't work though... I have no idea. They should have worked just fine.

Delete'dirtyc101' actually worked in the first demo (it made it so you won't die), but it won't work in this one. And I know those other codes were from K Fox, but like I said I was desperate. 'Harder' and 'Softer' haven't been implemented yet, apparently, but DirtyC told me that the old code (the 'dirtyc101' one) should work, but it doesn't. It doesn't stop me from completing the game, or anything, I just wanted to know why nothing works.
DeleteWow, those are some old codes alright. When I said old codes, I meant codes from the previous releases of LotTo. None of the codes are going to work from other games. Well, except for the code you get from BotB for getting past level 30. If don't have that code handy, you might want to go get it before the next release.

The gloves, boots, & thigh highs? Not really a full outfit there, but I agree, it's hot. =) I'm planing to use a similar setup for one of the later outfits. There will be a dress with it too, but I can see to it that the dress gets removed first upon taking damage.
