Yeah, would you guess it was an average flash game with a little cheesecake? If you've been 'round ye old Interwebs, then yeah, you probably could have figured that out. I like the idea of a free to play porn game as much as the next guy, but I know bullshit when I see it. Which is a shame, cuz the base game isn't bad really. Ah well, think of it as a good indicator as to the team behind the game. I would have considered giving them some cash right up until they pulled this shit. Oh, here's a link to the Escapist with some more details about the advertisements if you are curious.
In other news, although I have not been working on LotTO, I have been dinking around with making porn games. As we've covered before, my game-making pace leaves something to be desired. The big culprit (imo) is that I'm not motivated to draw. So, I've been working on that behind the scenes. No, I haven't learned to love drawing. I've been searching for an artist. And I've found a few in fact. Sadly, nothing has really panned out yet. Many of the folks are missing some combination of talent, tools, or time (Oh, all T's - I wins!). I've helped code a few minor bits here & there, but much of it never gets past the "ideas" phase. Actually, that's a slight lie, I have one that's maybe 30% towards being a playable demo - I would love to get that one to a showable state, even if it ends up never going anywhere.
So anyway, that's my month in a nutshell. I'm pretty deep in Wartune's claws atm, so don't expect anything from me soon. Hell, I haven't even been surfing my usual porn sites, so I can't even give y'all a linkdump this month. No fear, things will get better. They always do. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat can they say? Sex sells. We all know that at LEAST half of the men on the planet clicked on the link for that exact reason. And once they've signed up they might as well play it. And if it is as addicting as Dirtyc makes it out to be then the ad did it's job. What do they care as long as you are playing their game?

Also I must say that progress or not on the game I always enjoy the links, for example last month I found out that Kyrieru existed thanks to you, and I really enjoyed Kurovadis and Eroico (Not even because of the pron, because the sprites are too damn small, but because of the gameplay & level design.)
I've seen this on another blog where the guy put a bar at the side which shows his progress with the game like bugs, extras and design. Maybe this could help you explain how well your getting on with it?
ReplyDeleteI've considered doing that, but the truth is I'm not very good at planning out what goes in the game. I have the framework for the main storyline sure, but most of the content gets generated on the fly as I think of cool stuff that fits. So, hard to put any sort of timer or counter on it, as I don't know what "it" is exactly.
DeleteQuick question because on the subject of such things as porn, have you tried out LAB -still alive-? If not you should definitely do so. Just recently came out and it was well made IMO.

ReplyDeleteAt one point I wrote a whole post with my requirements. I decided it made me sound too much like a demanding little shit, so I deleted it. Basically I'm looking for an artist who can draw at least as well as me, and who is comfortable working with Flash.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I'm not sold on Flash, it's just what I have at the moment. Nor am I absolutely fixed on 2D art either. I've seen some awesome amateur 3D poser type stuff that would be just fantastic to work with. Makes me wonder if it's something I could pick up.
ive heard of Wartunes..BUT hav u heard of Scarlet Blade? pretty good game has nudity its free and it has some pretty interesting stuff u may want to check it out :)

ReplyDeleteI saw in an earlier screenshot you have added thigh highs. Which is half my dream come true. I doubt you have time for petty requests but if you were to add full pantyhose I know of quite a few people, me included who would be very happy.
I imagine its about the easiest thing to add, simply tint or darken the existing color.
This is a personal preference but to add to that Idea I'd love it if when the armor break occurred it didn't remove them but rather ripped a few well placed holes.
That's my two cents. If I gotta' donate to make this happen then name your price :P
i thought of cool and not very hard to draw armour or maybe an accesory- a chastity belt. it may be like the collar, get less damage from graple or (if it is armour) has a big load of armour save.
