Janurary Update: Skyrim Ahead, Expect Delays

So I'm all in the habit now of posting once a month.  And I realized today was the 14th, so half of January is already gone.  Figured I better post something, or y'all will start thinking I'm dead or worse, my game is dead.  Neither is the case.  I did however receive Skyrim as an early Christmas present, and I'm been... obsessed with it ever since.  Smithing, enchanting, brewing, back to smithing...  I'm told there's dragons somewhere as well, but that seems like an odd addition to a crafting game.  =D

So yeah, not the news y'all wanted to hear I'm sure.  Take heart, Skyrim is already starting to bore me in places.  I doubt it'll hold my complete interest for much longer (although I bet I'll still fire it up occasionally for several more months).

I have.   The problem I end up with why would you ever play the virgin side?  I'd love to think my games are good enough to stand without porn content, but let's face it, I'm a far cry away from there. 

This kinda gets back to my post a few months ago.  The player is here to see some smut.  Having a slutty option would be nice because it encourages sexy behavior without making the character lose.  But how does having a virgin path help here?  I can't imagine anyone playing the virgin path, except perhaps once through to see the dialogue changes (and even that's a stretch). 

Oddly, this could go a totally different direction.  Instead of whore/virgin, what if you started at 100% pure virgin and the objective of the game was to become as slutty as possible?  Could even have a 'scoring' system.  Not sure I'd really enjoy that kind of game though.  For some reason, I'm imagining something where you're rushing from one BJ to the next.  Could be hot to some, but not my thing. 

Now that I say that, it occurs to me this is basically what the original LoK game was.  Walk around, have sex, and as you leveled up your slutty meter you unlocked new monsters.  So maybe there's some merit to this.  I think you'd need to tweak the system in some manner though.  To be blunt, the original LoK game got boring really fast, which I'm sure is why there was a cheat button built right into it.

Anyway, feel free to discuss below.  I promise I'll try to be more responsive to comments this month.  Right after I finish crafting this suit of armor.... =)

    One way that you could use such a system would be by making certain actions only available one way or another. By adding an NPC that only helps the player if they are following the virgin path, or making it easier to resist the enemies and deal more damage, you could give reasons for not being a complete toy for the monsters. On the other hand being a whore could increase the game's difficulty to encourage the player to actually try and beat the game rather then just fap to it. Also some NPCs could refuse to help a whore player, or even fight them wich would let the player for once be the one doing the raping.

    Of course adding in all these "ifs" and "buts" would take a lot of extra work, but would be very interesting.

    Regardless, your game is entertaining. I believe that if you "finished" it, then added more to it over time or made sequels, fans would be satisfied with your work, and would wait a little more patiently for your next work.

    1. This is probably the best idea, and I agree with most if not all of the ideas explained in this reply. This would also make people play the pure path if they're playing it for story, which people do, I also think there should be a bonus to sexual damage should you go a sluttier route, kind of like the Elf's collar does to you, but not as effective.

      Human:Whore/Dirty fighter and Berseker
      Fox:Yiff Master/Stripper fighter and Spiritual fighter
      Bunny:vênus disciple/Lusty mage and Archimage
      pros
      Whore: do more sex damage to: humans and elfes and have special sex scene with them, it fight damage is low

      Dirty fighter: do middle sex and fight damage and have a little of Whore and Berseker perks

      Berseker: it do tons of damage, receive less damage and have more HP, doens't do much sex damage

      Yiff Master: Do more sex damage to canine and feline (we don't know with he gonna put an cat or tiger know?) and have special scenes with them, do little damage with fight skills.

      Stipper fighter: (I got the Idea from a manga(no not hentai))it have a little of pers of yiff master and spiritual fighter, while she fight the foes get aroused and she have strange sex scenes.

      Spiritual fighter: Mixing martial arts with spiritual arts she make the Spiritual Fight Style: it is a long and mid range fight,It don't do tons of damage but it attack speed and mobility is high. doesn't do much damage with sex

      Vênus aprentice: the most op of sex, it have bonus damage, special scenes and etc with every specie, it sex scenes involve magic

      Lusty mage: it magics cause lust and damage, her sex scenes have magic

      Archimage: Do tons of damage with Very powerfull magics, but it defense and hp is very low, doesn't do much damage with sex

  2. Maybe it sounds bad or messed up, but I don't like when its having sex. Its called a run or rape game for a reason cuz its rape and thats what I like. lol, i like my character to be raped, dont care if that sounds messed up

    1. I tend to agree here. While I like the ability to "take control" of a situation, I hate that being completely overwhelmed and raped pretty much means a game over. I like my characters to be "strong" in that they won't participate willingly in a sexual encounter, so they have to be overpowered and raped, but should be able to continue on after that.

    2. I totally agree! I enjoy games where the character doesn't slut-out during the sex-scenes. Run and rape should mean running, fighting, and occasionally getting RAPED! That being said, I agree that once the bad-guys start piling on, you're pretty much done-for, and that sucks. If the sexings were a little less lethal, that would go a long way.
      On a related note, sometimes it's way too easy to avoid getting grappled; when the enemies are coming from one side only, it's just a matter of hitting 'em with ranged attacks over and over, keeping your distance. If enemies could creep up behind you or hide in the background, that would be awesome.
      Oh, and if only the character would keep making noise after "Game Over..."

  4. Though I just like anything that doesn't forces the player to "lose" for the sex as the players are supposed to be rewarded for their skills while they go on, instead of them going back to lose on purpose.

    Also if the character is actually willing to show his sexual prowess and stamina, why not show the enemies who's the master?
    I prefer to have the choice of dealing with enemies through fighting or sexing than to be forced one way or the other.

    I would not consider the original LoK as a game, as it had no more gameplay than a Visual novel or a really bland graphic adventure.

  5. As said ninja, the problem is not about whore/virgin.
    It's more about different behaviours (be raped, go fuck, love furries, attract womens, be dirty..)
    Actions could change some behaviour (like bonus/malus on stats, new spells, transformations, different action to finish etc.) in options to choose or in gameplay.

      You say the same thing that I. But I think that your approach doesn't provide enough freedom in a game.

      For example, if we take an experience level on sex, we've got more sex scene (it's what you say) but these scenes are not just for a magic player. A warrior can have them if he plays in this way: The more blowjob we use, the more scene on blowjob we got.
      If we make love to furies many times, furies will become easier to approach (or other type of furries will be available)

      Class player/npc would be just exist to have a background and a way to start, and not force the player to act against its will (like Daggerfall ). But you know.. it's my point of view ;)

    3. oh I get it, an freedom game style, yea it is fun this way cause dirtyc have already thinked when you complete you can use others caracters itens, but you have to consider that different caracters have to have differents perks

  6. DirtyC101, just keep up the good work, and let the variables to a next game! Your game is good the way it is, no need to change right now, and changing topics, you should try this site (http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/), it kept me logged into skyrim for more then 400 hours, maybe it will make your game better.

    Ps.: If you create an acc, you'll see their adult section mods for the game, it's impressive.

    1. No worries, not planning to add a whore/virgin system. But it makes for neat discussion, and could influence what I build for the next game.

      And yes, been on nexusmods quite a bit. At the moment I'm playing with MiniLovers, as well as a handful of sexy outfit mods. =D

  7. I wouldn't change your game in a 2/3 complete state. You have a run(fight) or rape game here, not an rpg so there shouldn't be too much thought put into that one. A more rpg-like approach should be reserved for another project and then, I already wrote that regarding the WoW porn game, it has to be a lot more than "whore/virgin" to make it interesting. Choices have to matter and most importantly the player has to have the choice of what he actually wants to do and what not PLUS having these choices influence gameplay as a whole. "Whore/Virgin" makes no sense because just if I happen to like have my character get dirty with furries or ferals it doesn't mean I want to see tentacle or soemthing like this, especially if I HAVE to do it to "advance" my status and go on.

    A good adult game is always beatable wthout any sexual content whatsoever in a "vanilla" way. This is the default way the game should be played. Sexual content should be the players choice and then it should influence the gameplay to see different results based on what the player chooses to do (getting boni for certain parts of the game while others become harder etc.)

    You know why adult mods for Oblivion can be really hot although they look like crap? XD Because you have your RPG adventure in a world where not everything cries out "fuck me", but if you happen to want it you CAN have all kinds of hot situations and the really good mods actually let the gamplay be affected by that :)

  8. it occurs to me that the better a game gets the more the players want to have added to it. As a Dungeon Master I have ran in to this problem often when making the "house rules" for my games. What I always found worked best was to set my rules before a game, and stick to them regardless of requests by the players. I did take the requests down on paper though, and tried using them in the next game we played. I think that if you , Dirtyc101, finished your game as is and kept the requests in mind for another few games that you would be able to work more efficiently and be less concerned about what you should or should not include.

    1. Very true about feature creep. Trying to resist making changes this late into the game. I enjoy hearing new ideas, even if I only implement very few of them. And the ideas help steer where the next game might go. I'm seeing a lot of push for more RPG type elements, perhaps I'll try that next time? Don't know, but it's something I'll ponder more as LotTO gets closer to being completed.

  9. As an interesting idea, you may want to aware whore points for letting the grapple meter slide to the right. You can then let it unlock new things and there's a challenge to it. Obviously, if you go too hard, you'll die, but no risk... no reward.

  10. Whore/Virgin meter tend to ruin the experience. I agree that it is mostly fight or be raped, and even if it sounds bad, it is horny. And the fact that your character can try to satisfy her ennemies without being their toy is the greatest part of your game. That makes the scene where she is their toy even sexier.

    A submissive/dominant meter would be much more appropriate here. By acting submissevely (cautiously on the right part of the meter), the player might gain sexual bonuses similar to what gives the collar. To the point where you could even reverse the direction the player might want to go on the meter if he wants to pursuie his journey.

    That could also lead to some other choices during the adventure. For example, you could decide to submit to the human chief and become her bitch in exchange of what was needed in that tent to continue. And everytime you come back, you have a special sex scene with him since you're now her whore. Also, that may be the opportunity to go for two different endings.

I think the underlying concept of the virgin/whore idea is that on one side you have a girl desperately trying to protect her virtue, as opposed to a girl who doesn't care who she has sex with, as long as she has it. The first idea is much sexier in my mind than the second. The idea of a girl being forced by these monsters is more erotic mind than a girl who actually wants it, otherwise where's the adrenaline rush? The game is good as it stands in my opinion, without the addition of a virgin/whore mode. The virgin mode would make it no fun to play ;) and the whore mode would make it even less so, from my point of view.

  13. My idea was that the whore/virgin option would be conversation options rather than influential combat options. Although, I did see somewhere in these comments about the more whore conversation choices you make the less damage you take during sexual contact, which sound slike a cool concept. Also you could have the virgin and whore conversation option and then just one in the middle if you don't want to influence the system.

  14. The thing about a Virgin meter is that there must be a logical reason for wanting to be a virgin, or as much of a virgin as possible. That means the only practical way or reason would be to have your characters sluttyness effect his or her ability to level up or get more powerful. ie - the more you do it the harder it is to get it up (applies especially well to male characters yesno :P)

    Likewise, even in a game where there was no game over from sex - if having sex with an enemy to defeat them meant that your character didn't get any skill points (and not sexing they did) then players would have to balance to-sex vs not-to-sex to try and level up - most likely not-sexing enemies who's rape scenes they'd already witnessed.
