May Update

Next Release: Summer-ish

I've already bemoaned plenty of times how I never seem to have time to work on the game.  I've also been having a lot of trouble waking up on time lately.  So as an attempt to kill 2 birds with 1 stone, I've changed my morning routine.  Now the first thing I do every morning is work on the game for 30 minutes.  It's something fun enough to get me out of bed, so I don't hit the snooze button for an hour.  Of course, by the time I wake up enough to think straight and get Adobe booted, it seems like my half hour is over.  But I've been doing this for a few weeks now, and I'm making (slow) progress.  All the double team animations are complete, and some of the later ones are pretty cool.  I'm going to hold off on the spoilers for now, but I think you're going to really like them.  =D

So with the double team animations complete, I'm trying to wrap up the last of Act 2.  There's still a bit to go.  The two boss fights are the biggest holdouts, but at the moment I'm working on... I'm not sure what you call it.  Detail?  Polish?  I'm working on an optional sex scene that triggers in one of the backgrounds.  So drawing the backgrounds, making the items, and then animating this particular event.  (Given this is a sex game, I reckon that's more like a mandatory scene.  hahaha).  Anyway, had a bit of a setback this week, as once the original items were drawn I realized I didn't like them & went in a different direction.  Still, progress is progressing.

And the last thing I want to touch on today is a question from a few posts back:

"As a final note, when the next version comes out, could you make it so that completing whatever content is there counts as 'completing' the game in terms of unlocking character/class combinations? I'm just itching for my boxing bunny~<3"


Now, this is something I had completely forgotten about.  Well, forgotten is the wrong word, I knew I wanted to implement this once the game was done.  But the idea of having it tested before the final release had never occurred to me.  And it really needs to be tested too, as I'm positive there's going to be some combination of race / class that gets stuck.  Maybe the bunnykin warrior isn't actually strong enough to open the necessary door, or the human wizard isn't smart enough to find the necessary magic MacGuffin.  So opening this up for testing is a great idea.  What I don't like is there's no way to put that cat back in the bag, so to speak.  I can turn it off again of course, but once you've played with it, I think having to unlock it again would come across as tedious, not fun.

I could set it up as an obvious code just for testing (something like "ThisCodeDoesn'tWorkLater").  Or I could release some full releases where the unusual combos were the only options available (IE:  In this month's release, you can only play as wizards).  But I'm not really digging either of those options.  So I'm seriously considering just making them all unlocked from the top.  I rather liked having them only available as unlockable rewards for beating the game though, so I'm a bit torn here.  I'll have to think about it some more.  It just so happens that I want to re-do the character select screen anyway, as it doesn't have a color selector built into it, so I'm going to be retouching this anyway.  Now might be a good time to turn it all on & be done with it.

  2. I'm personally okay with it just being open from the start, or you could offer a code to unlock certain/all race combinations as a reward for beating the game with certain characters, that way if you redownload it/lose your save or what have you you can easily unlock it again with the code.

    First off, glad you're looking into this now. ^_^

    Second, I'd be perfectly fine with everything being unlocked from the start... but I know flash has a way to set 'global' variables that other programs (say, a new version of the game) can still access. So, when you beat the final boss / get to the screen with the portals, the game could set a view bits that unlock the appropriate race/class combinations, and all future version can continue to check those variables to see what's been unlocked.

    If you do go the unlock route, I'd like to make another recomendation: completing the game not only unlocks that class for all races, but that races for all classes as well. So, for example, finishing the game as Farah would let you play either of the others as a warrior, but also let you play Farah as a Marshal or Magician. It'll still take 3 playthroughs to unlock EVERYTHING, but this give the players the ability to test their favorite class AND their favorite Races more thouroughly sooner.

    When you are on time, you will either be on time or late
    Everything sounds so awesome btw, i cant wait for the next release even know it's going slow
    And i also have the same question as erolwtf, is the next release the beta or the game itself?

    1. Next release is looking like another Beta. Sadly. There should be a lot of new stuff, but I'm still working on Act 2. I'd love to pretend like I'm going to finish a whole act in the next few months, but at the pace I'm moving, I'm going to be really happy just to have Act 2 completed

    1) Are there gonna be any bosses/enemies with "armor save" as well? Would make for a sexy catfight.

    2) Are you gonna remake the model for the human female? I remember you talking about how you were inexperienced when you first started, but in this past update, the human(female) enemies look fantastic.

  7. Sorta random, but I was wondering: (since I forgot) Do you have any female enemies that squirt in the game? (Or if possibly available to the player.) It'd help speed up the "mess" factor. Despite I know due to being one myself, that female ejaculate is a lot more, and much less sticky than than sperm, it could be used to "mark" the player. If you'd want to be even fancier though, you could have a few layers of lubricant among with the sperm, making the character mostly look "sweaty" for lack of a better term. Then again, I kinda just recall 1 enemy that directly use their vulva against the player. (Human female, face-sitting if I don't recall wrong? Speaking of which, in response to the "cough up sperm" deep throat action, I'd at least personally find it neat if the "total domination" of the player of the human female could have a similar effect of the player spitting out lubricant.

    (Since trust me, it's pretty much the female equivalence of it xP A girl with enough size on her labia and vulva overall can be very effective on suffocating if doing it rough enough. And especially if using a hand to cover the nose.) Anyhow, just some random thoughts. Would be neat if the player could squirt as well. But then again, seeing as how you fail when you orgasm (if I recall right, man it was ages since I played this haha.), that would cause a problem hehe. Anyhow, I know it'd be hard to come up with, but some sort of "female" monster would be interesting. (Basically, think "tentacles" on terms of monsters, but as said, more "female".) And would love it if there was some more poses with the females vulva's more visible. (speaking of which, wouldn't hurt making them a bit more endowed, some longer labia and whatnot. And yeah, I know it's unlikely as I know flash myself, and making proper, and sometimes just decent female genitals can be a pain in the ass, but still xP)

    So yeah, hope you didn't mind the semi-rambling. That being said, I don't mind the male content, and I like that too. But to quote you "What if porn games were 'good' games too?" And there's really a lack of "good" females in porn games. Needs more that takes some charge, and most importantly: gets off. But yeah, just my opinion. I know quite a few of them are likely too far into production to do anything about, but can still hope. At least it might get contemplated upon :P

    1. Whoa, Thanks for the long reply! Most of what you have here isn't something I can change quickly, but it's good feedback for my future games. Thank you!

      As for female ejaculations, there's none. For me, drawing cum has the double wammy of being time consuming to animate and also having that Ewww factor. And you'd be surprised how many Ewww factors pop up when drawing. I'm usually happy with the finished product, but there's some days where you just don't want to stare at a giant cock for an hour while you touch it up.

      So back on topic, when it came time to draw the female's equivalent, I skipped it entirely. When a female monster cums, there's a 50-50 chance that it will add to the mess on the hero, but there's no animation showing it. You're not the first person to notice though. Something for me to keep in mind.

    2. You're welcome, I'm quite well known for being able to make walls of text haha. And I know most of the things isn't something you can change or add quickly, mostly just throwing them up there for future games :P

      And I see. I know little of doing cum in animations as I've only done motion tweens and a few bone tool cumshots myself, but I know it's time consuming. Honestly thought you were more into doing cumshots though, since well... it's a very popular thing. Heck, I as said even like them... well okay, I prefer the female counterpart, but the male one is okay too :P I get the "not wanting to spend hours on tuning x" thou heh.

      And didn't recall that actually. But that's nice at least. And well, I've been told I am a girl with an unhealthy obsession for vulva's and squirting haha ;D As said, would be really hot with a enemy that either squirted all over the hero's face, or pushed her head (possibly depending how "dominated" the hero is) deep against the crotch and filled her mouth, making her cough it up afterwards. *cough* Anyhow, thanks for the reply.     2. Bwhwhaha. One one reply I have a very detailed response asking for better female treatment, and in this one I have dildo cannons. =D Probably no dildo cannons forthcomming, but it did make me laugh out loud. Proof that there's a really wide spread on what some folks consider 'good'.

    3. Well a more serious suggestion would be a futa demon girl with tentacles on her back. An enemy like that allows for a huge number of possibilities, especial when combined into double teams. And it is just ridiculously hot.

    Anywho, just like to say this game is your best so far! Graphics, plot, and gameplay are much improved from your already awesome K Fox and the Magic Sword game.

    My suggestions: -Have the protagonists and their enemies moan as they climax.
    -Have sexual interactions with the NPC's such as the captain
    I know my suggestions are going to take hours of programming...I know because I was a friend of a programmer. But I hope you take them into consideration.

    With the problem with the bugs combination of the three how one might not be strong enough to open things and stuff like that, maybe if you just make it so each still have the same stats to start off with but with the different weapon.
